Where is the hotel located ?
Les Hauts de Sancerre is perched above the vineyards in the heart of the Loire Valley, in the heart of the historic village of Sancerre and two hours from Paris.
What are the check-in and check-out times ?
Check-in is from 4:00 pm until 11 pm, and check-out is from 8 am until 12:00 pm. Early check-in and late check-out may be arranged upon request and availability. Please note that a credit card will be requested upon arrival as a guarantee for the duration of your stay.
What are the reception opening hours ?
The reception desk is open from 8 am to 11:30 pm every day.
Does the hotel offer parking ?
Yes, we offer complimentary private parking for our guests during the first year following the opening.
How can I get to the hotel from Paris ?
By car, allow approximately 2 hours of travel.
From the Paris airports, expect around 2 hours (180 km) from Paris-Orly and 2 hours 20 minutes (220 km) from Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
You can also take a direct regional train (TER) from Paris-Bercy to Tracy-Sancerre (about 1h50). A taxi or private transfer will then take you to the hotel in around ten minutes.
Is it possible to access the estate without a car ?
Yes, the estate is accessible without a car. We can arrange a transfer from Tracy-Sancerre train station (6 km) or nearby locations upon request (subject to availability).
How many rooms do you currently offer ?
Our property currently has 8 rooms. From spring 2026, 17 additional rooms will be available, offering another way to experience the estate.
Are the rooms suitable for guests with reduced mobility (PRM )?
Not yet, but a fully equipped room for guests with reduced mobility will be available with the opening of our new building in 2026.
Is the hotel suitable for families ?
Absolutely. We welcome families and baby amenities are available for €25/night. Please note that our rooms are not connecting.
Is smoking allowed in the rooms ?
For the comfort of all guests, our rooms are strictly non-smoking. A €250 cleaning fee will be charged in case of non-compliance.
Are pets allowed ?
Yes, pets are allowed in the rooms and the garden for €30/night. We provide a cozy bed. Please note that owners are fully responsible for their pet’s behavior and cleanliness; any damage or additional cleaning may incur a supplementary charge. Kindly inform us in advance so we may prepare for their arrival.
Do you offer a dry cleaning service ?
Our dry cleaning service operates Tuesday to Saturday.
Laundry dropped off by 6:00 pm (Mon–Fri) is ready next day from 9:00 am (Tue–Sat).
For same-day service, drop off by 9:00 am (Tue–Fri) for pickup at 6:00 pm.
Do you have a restaurant on site ?
Yes, our gastronomic restaurant, overseen by Chef Arnaud Munster, offers refined, seasonal cuisine inspired by the region’s rich terroir. Please note that the restaurant is open to external guests.
Wednesday to Sunday dinner: 7 – 8 pm
Saturday & Sunday lunch: 12:15 – 1:15 pm
Is the restaurant accessible for guests with reduced mobility ?
Yes, the restaurant is accessible for guests with reduced mobility and for those using motorized scooters.
What are the breakfast hours and options ?
Breakfast includes a buffet and a small à la carte selection presented indoors only.
A room service is possible upon request.

Until what time can I enjoy the bar ?
Last drinks are served at 11:00 PM.
Guests are welcome to enjoy drinks in their rooms.
Is there a wellness area ?
Yes, our wellness space features a treatment room offering exclusive La Chênaie signature rituals, available by appointment.
Is there a fitness room ?
Yes, it is located on the ground floor and is freely accessible to all guests. Equipment includes a stationary bike, rowing machine, wall bars, abdominal bench, weights, and yoga mats.

Do you offer wine tastings or vineyard tours ?
Certainly. We are pleased to arrange private tastings, vineyard visits, and exclusive experiences with local winemakers.
Can guests visit the Tour des Fiefs ?
Yes. This historic monument — the last remaining tower of Sancerre’s medieval castle, built in the late 14th century — stands 40 meters high and offers breathtaking views over the Loire Valley and the Sancerre vineyards.
It is accessible from 6:00 pm until sunset if the weather allows it.
Can I host a private event or wedding at the hotel ?
Yes. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, our château, gardens, and reception spaces offer a stunning backdrop for unforgettable events.
